Today I’m going to demonstrate a combination attack strategy for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from the Butterfly Guard to attain the Back.
In BJJ, getting to the Back is a position where you can attack your opponent and your opponent can not attack you. Positions like these are things that we always want to attain in a fight.
This is the Butterfly Guard that we’re working from today: My training partner is in my Butterfly Guard. We’re going to be addressing a sweep with the double underhooks that allows me to attain the back position.
This starts off with me having both my arms underneath my training partner, with my hand hooked behind his back.
From here what I’m trying to do is make my training partner walk on his hands. So I’m going to sit back and kick up with my legs.
From here I’m going to drop one hook and extend the other leg. From here immediately I post on my elbow and then my other hand goes to my training partner’s bicep (on the same side).
Then I sit up and either get a seatbelt or I can get the power half and pull him back to get the back and apply the rear-naked choke.
